ML Hart

a journal of observations, obsessions and inspirations

Comment Policy for the ML Hart website

I welcome visitors to ML Hart’s Musings! Since this is my personal journal site, the posts, reviews and recommendations here are, by definition, personally subjective. I may find one book, performance, artist fascinating and a reader could have the opposite reaction. Totally valid.

And that’s okay. Opinions are welcome. One of the most compelling things about creative endeavors is how passionately subjective we can be about them.

world map shows people everywhere are connected

So that we may all enjoy a sense of community by engaging in and responding to dialogue, I ask that guests read and abide by the terms below.

If you have concerns about these guidelines or about a particular comment made by someone else, please contact me. Thank you!

Comment Policy

Do contribute to the conversation. Comments with nothing more than, say, “Great post!” or “I disagree!” will not be approved for posting.

Do use your real name to foster the conversational atmosphere. Who really wants to chat with bots?

Do address the content of a post directly — that means no random links or multiple links in a comment. One is fine, if it’s relevant to the topic. No PR or promotion for your own blog/site/service/product – there are other venues for that.

All speech must be civil. Ad hominem attacks will not be allowed. In case it isn’t obvious, “civil” means none of the following will be tolerated:

  • inflammatory or hate speech
  • discriminatory language, including but not limited to insulting or negative comments on a person’s nationality, gender identity, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, age or ability
  • sexualized ‘jokes’ or references
  • violent or intimidating language
  • off-topic rants on politics or religion
  • judgmental comments towards those who ask questions

Do be mindful that the quantity of your comments on any given post can overwhelm, unless kept to a reasonable number. Everybody should get a chance to say something, including those who are genuinely asking for information. If you’re going back and forth, engaged in respectful dialogue with another commenter, that’s clearly different, even when the conversation is intense.

More Details

All comments will be moderated before appearing on the pages. Obvious spam will not be approved and the commenter will be immediately blocked without further notice.

By posting a comment, you agree to abide by this policy. Anyone who repeatedly violates these standards will be banned from further participation, at my discretion.

These guidelines are subject to change as needed.

Thanks, everyone.

ML Hart

My earliest memory of anything is kindergarten-age me, sitting in the school library (a couple of rolling shelves in a hallway) with a book in my lap.
The #beautyinmytwitterfeed this morning is made of words, and sums up my whole reading life. 📚📘♥️

digital selfcare... love it.
I do all these digital things - am always baffled when people say there's too much anger, violence etc in their twitterfeed... take the time to curate your followers - it pays off.
